storage & production
What is it?
Companies that produce goods and companies that are involved in supply chain management and logistics are particularly interested in solutions that support quality control and workflow efficiency.
There are certainly a lot of use cases in STORAGE & PRODUCTION that can be supported by IoT products: Remote monitoring of production, quality control of stored goods in the warehouse and work environment safety are the ones we hear most often.
WhY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Why is monitoring storage conditions of finished products so important? Well, it can help to eliminate potential damage of the goods and avoid costs (loss of potential revenue on the one hand and increased costs of disposal on the other hand).
Collisions and blows, undercooling, damages due to rough handling are just a few examples of “Risks of warehousing”.
By eliminating these risks, companies and managers can save valuable time and money.
A simple but sturdy IoT device could enable managers and production engineers to ensure optimum storage conditions. This is particularly important in the case of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), such as packaged food, toiletries or beverages, where the appropriate temperature, humidity level or brightness of the warehouse must be ensured.
As a team of experienced HW engineers in Gdynia, we develop IoT products based on technologies like LoRA, LoRaWan, and LTE-M. All our devices are EMC tested and developed in our ELAB (Lab Space for EMC Testing) in Gdynia, Poland. Location: Google Maps
What parameters do we measure?
Depending on the use cases and client needs, SEZO IoT solutions can measure a whole set of parameters that are aimed at monitoring and improving STORAGE & PRODUCTION capabilities.
Parameters that are particularly interesting in the context of storing goods are: Temperature, humidity, air pressure, luminosity, UV radiation intensity.
Parameters that are particularly interesting in the context of production facilities are: VOC concentration, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, luminosity, noise level and motion (PIR)
Our company is a Hardware company. This is our core competency. We are capable of adding and removing features of our products, based on the use case and needs of our clients. We have an ELAB (Lab Space for EMC Testing) located at our company premises and we can run Hardware quality assurance tests, including EMC testing.
EMC testing (and EMC certification) is an important step in bringing a new HW products to the European market. One of the purposes is to ensure that electromagnetic emissions from the device are below relevant limits defined for the respective type of device. It must be ensured that the electronic device does not interfere with other devices.
What features do we offer?
Our IoT products are often battery powered, based on LoRaWan technology and include the possibility of platform integration. Lets take SEZO UL as an example here: SEZO UL is an IoT device for Storage Conditions Monitoring. It is basically a battery-operated telemetric device for environmental measurements, together with a probe for measuring temperature and humidity of bulk materials.
What makes this product special? The device uses LoRaWan technology. It allows the devices to use unlicensed ISM band – which means no subscription fees are required. The devices using LoRaWAN send data either after being triggered by an event (e.g. movement, switching on the light) or based on a fixed schedule (e.g. every 15 minutes).
Another feature of this IoT device is its sturdiness in harsh environments. SEZO UL can be used both indoors and outdoors – it operates without any interference at temperatures ranging from -30 to +60°C.

Storage Conditions
Monitoring
With SEZO UL we have developed an IoT device that helps warehouse managers ensure optimum storage conditions. This is particularly important in use cases where goods need to be stored in appropriate temperature, humidity level or brightness. The main module of the device responsible for measuring light intensity and UV radiation and radio communication can be installed in one of two possible positions. This gives the possibility of proper orientation of the UV sensor in relation to the radiation source. Thanks to the fact that the device is compact and battery-powered, it is enough to install it in a place where we want to monitor temperature, humidity or brightness and the device is ready to work. SEZO UL is able to send data via LoRaWAN to Orange Live Objects platform.
Monitoring Indoor Air Quality
at Public Institutions
SEZO EL makes public institutions more comfortable and more efficient. Public facilities like libraries, museums or city halls make use of SEZO EL capabilities such as monitoring temperature, humidity, noise level, and illumination to make the space more comfortable and efficient. Thresholds for the measured parameters can be set individually through the built-in alarm threshold configuration. The integrated accelerometer enables measurement of shocks and/or movements (e.g. of objects such as doors or exhibition pieces) and can potentially decrease response time of facility security (more reliable than CCTV). The device is capable of sending data to the Orange Live Objects platform via LoRaWAN.
Monitoring Indoor Air Quality at Schools and Universities
SEZO EL makes educational institutions a safe and comfortable place for students and staff. School management uses SEZO EL to keep track of noise levels on the school premises to prevent children and staff from being repeatedly exposed to potentially harmful sounds’ volume. SEZO EL monitors indoor air quality inside clasrooms. Paints or plastic parts can release volatile chemicals when exposed to heat. These can cause breathing problems, nausea, and eye irritation – which is why it is important to regularly check the effectiveness of ventilation in rooms. The IoT device is battery powered , and can therefore be used conveniently in various locations. A single battery can last for up to 5 years of constant usage, making it hassle-free. The device is capable of sending data via LoRaWAN to the Orange Live Objects platform.
